I am Govinda Prasad Sapkota, the founder and sole investor of Mountain King Treks – Best Trekking Agency in Nepal, bringing over 35 years of dedicated experience in adventure travel and tourism. Often regarded as one of the backbone pillars of Nepal’s trekking industry, I have devoted my life to exploring, preserving, and sharing the majestic beauty of Nepal’s mountains, culture, and traditions with travelers from around the world.
My journey began humbly as a trekking porter, carrying loads through remote Himalayan trails. Over the decades, I gained invaluable experience working with several renowned companies across Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, India’s Sikkim, and Darjeeling. I have trekked extensively—from the easternmost corners of Nepal to its far western frontiers—immersing myself deeply in the geography, history, anthropology, and hospitality unique to each region.
After many years of hard work and learning, I realized the time had come to create my own brand—one that could offer superior, personalized service built on genuine expertise and heartfelt care. Thus, in 2017, Mountain King Treks was born.
As the Nepali saying goes, “Dhilo Aayo, Kada Aayo” — meaning “Though late, it arrived strong.” This perfectly reflects our journey: starting later than some, but with unwavering strength, dedication, and resilience. Another proverb that inspired me through the years is “No Pain, No Gain” — reminding us that true success comes through perseverance and hard work, values that continue to guide us every day.
