The Khopra Ridge Trek Nepal 6 Days is a spectacular off-the-beaten-path Himalayan journey in the heart of the Annapurna region trekking area, offering dramatic ridge walking, peaceful mountain trails, and breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. This trek is widely regarded as one of the best alternatives to the more crowded trekking routes, providing a true wilderness experience combined with authentic Himalayan village culture.
Unlike more commercial trekking routes, this trail passes through quiet forests, traditional Gurung and Magar settlements, and high alpine ridges where nature feels untouched, pure, and deeply immersive. The highlight of the trek is Khopra Ridge (3,660m), a stunning viewpoint that opens up wide, uninterrupted Himalayan panoramas. From here, trekkers can enjoy unforgettable sunrise and sunset views over towering peaks such as Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Nilgiri, and surrounding snow-capped mountains. The peaceful atmosphere at the ridge makes it one of the most rewarding viewpoints in the entire Annapurna region trekking network.
This journey also includes the optional exploration of Khayer Lake, a sacred high-altitude alpine lake located deep in the mountains. This side trip adds a more adventurous dimension to the trek, making it even more special for experienced trekkers seeking a deeper Himalayan experience.

The evening is free to relax by Phewa Lake or explore the lively Lakeside area.
After breakfast, you drive from Pokhara to Ghandruk, one of the most beautiful Gurung villages in the Annapurna foothills. From here, the trek begins with a steady uphill climb through stone steps, terraced fields, and forested trails. The route soon enters rhododendron and oak forests, creating a peaceful natural environment. As you gain altitude, occasional views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre appear through the trees. By late afternoon, you reach Tadapani, a quiet ridge settlement surrounded by forest and mountain scenery.
Today’s trail becomes quieter and more remote as you move away from the main trekking route. The path gradually ascends through dense rhododendron and mixed forests, offering a peaceful trekking experience with birdsong and fresh mountain air. The trail is less crowded, allowing full immersion in nature. As you approach Dobato, the forest opens to wider Himalayan glimpses, revealing parts of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre. Overnight stay in a simple mountain lodge.
Early morning, you ascend toward Khopra Ridge, one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Annapurna region trekking area. The trail climbs steadily through alpine terrain and open ridges, gradually revealing vast Himalayan panoramas. Upon reaching Khopra Ridge, you are rewarded with breathtaking views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Nilgiri, and surrounding peaks. The rest of the day is spent enjoying the peaceful ridge atmosphere, photography, and sunset views over the Himalayas.
Early morning hike to the ridge viewpoint offers a magical sunrise over the Himalayas, with golden light illuminating the snow-covered peaks. After breakfast, you begin your descent through forests and pasturelands toward Swanta village. The trail is peaceful and scenic, passing through traditional settlements and farmland. Swanta is a quiet Magar village offering an authentic cultural experience and warm local hospitality.
After breakfast, you continue descending through stone steps and forest trails toward Banthanti or Ulleri. The final section of the trek passes through beautiful rhododendron forests and terraced landscapes. From Banthanti/Ulleri, you take a private vehicle back to Pokhara, and later continue by tourist bus or private transfer to Kathmandu.
In the evening, a special farewell dinner with cultural program is organized in Kathmandu.
