After decades of dedication in the trekking sector, I—Govinda Prasad Sapkota—officially established Mountain King Treks on 7th May 2017, a golden date that marks a new chapter in my lifelong commitment to Himalayan adventures. This company is not just a business; it is a heartfelt mission born from years of hardship, learning, and experience in the mountains. I had the honor to serve thousands of trekkers and mountaineers from around the world, many of whom continue to support and trust me in this journey.

The path to establishing Mountain King Treks wasn’t easy. Without the unwavering support of my former clients, family, local community, and friends, this dream would not have been possible. My deepest gratitude goes to all of them. In particular, I want to acknowledge my elder brother, Rameshwor Sapkota (Ramu), who played an irreplaceable role in my success.

My brother, Rameshwor Sapkota (Ramu), is the founder of Adventure Silkroad Inc. and a former honorary consular of Lithuania to Nepal. His encouragement, mentorship, and continuous motivation helped me find my path and build my own brand in the trekking world. Without his presence and belief in me, I wouldn’t have succeeded.

I chose the name because, although Nepal is now a federal democratic republic—no longer a monarchy—the term “King” reflects specialist-level expertise, mastery, and prestige in Himalayan travel. Our brand speaks of respect, professionalism, and unparalleled adventure leadership, not monarchy. We are proud to be known by a name that symbolizes excellence.

Our office is located at Maitrinagar, Kirtipur-2, Kathmandu, Nepal—from where we organize safe, ethical, and inspiring journeys across Nepal’s greatest trekking regions, from the Everest Base Camp to Upper Dolpo and Mustang.
