Everest Base Camp Trek from Jiri

Kathmandu sightseeing & trek preparation Today, we'll visit major UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the evening, you'll prepare all essential items needed for the trek.

Kathmandu to Jiri (2,370m/7,774ft), 8-9 hrs drive We'll drive for approximately 8 to 9 hours to Jiri from Kathmandu. Despite occasional jerking and poor road conditions, the scenic views are memorable. Jiri is the largest settlement of the Jirel tribe. Overnight in Jiri.

Trek to Bhandar (2,190m/7,183ft), 5-6 hrs walk We'll ascend to a 2,400m ridge, descend to Shivalaya, then ascend Sangba Danda Pass and other passes, crossing scattered settlements. Through forests and streams, we'll climb to Deurali, then descend for an hour to reach Bhandar, a large Sherpa settlement. Overnight in Bhandar.

Trek to Sete (2,575m/8,446ft), 4-5 hrs walk We'll descend to Likhu Khola, cross a suspension bridge, and reach Kinja Village. Then, we'll ascend steeply through rhododendron and oak forests for several hours to reach Sete, a small Sherpa settlement. Overnight in Sete.

Trek to Junbesi (2,680m/8,790ft) via Lamjura pass (3,530m/11,578ft), 6-7 hrs walk We'll ascend to Lamjura Pass, the highest point between Namche Bazar and Jiri. Then we'll descend through forests to Taktor and further down through terraced fields to Junbesi. Overnight in Junbesi.

Rest day at Junbesi We'll spend this day exploring nearby villages and monasteries, allowing our bodies to acclimatize. Optional visits include the traditional art center at Phugmochhe (two hours walk) and Thubten Chhuling Monastery. Overnight in Junbesi.

Trek to Nunthala (2,330m/7,642ft), 5-6 hrs walk We'll cross the Junbesi River and trek through dense forest, crossing wooden bridges over streams and passing shepherds' huts. We'll pass through Phurteng Village, Salung, and Ringmu before reaching Nunthala. Overnight in Nunthala.

Trek to Bupsa (2,300m/7,544ft), 4-5 hrs walk We'll descend to Dudh Koshi River, then trek through small houses, terraced fields, and forests to reach Rai Village. Then we'll ascend around the ridge to Khari Khola and reach Bupsa. Overnight in Bupsa.

Trek to Surkhe (2,290m/7,511ft), 4-6 hrs walk We'll head to Bhumsing Village, then north to Puiyan Village. Following a lengthy wide trail with gentle ups and downs, we'll arrive at Surkhe. Overnight in Surkhe.

Trek to Phakding (2,610m/8,561ft), 4-5 hrs walk Ascending north from Surkhe, we'll pass through Chaurikharka Village and join the path from Lukla leading to Phakding. This area offers views of Mt. Kusum Kangaru and Mt. Nupla. Overnight in Phakding.

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft), 5-6 hrs walk We'll cross the Dudh Koshi River, trek through pine forests to Monjo Village, and enter Sagarmatha National Park. After descending to the Dudh Koshi River again and passing through Jorsale Village, we'll ascend to Namche Bazar. Overnight in Namche Bazar.

Acclimatization day at Namche We'll explore Namche Bazar and nearby areas. You can visit the local Sherpa museum to learn about Sherpa history and their relationship with mountains. We'll also visit Everest National Park for spectacular mountain views. Overnight in Namche Bazar.

Trek to Tengboche (3,867m/12,684ft), 5-6 hrs walk We'll descend to the Dudh Koshi River, then walk uphill through rhododendron forest. After crossing the river again, we'll face a steep uphill climb to Tengboche. Here, you can visit the largest monastery in the region. Overnight in Tengboche.

Trek to Dingboche (4,358m/14,295 ft), 5-6 hrs walk We'll descend through forests to Devuche, cross the Imja Khola, and arrive at Pangboche. We'll then walk through the upper trail of Pangboche, pass Imja Valley, cross the Lobuche River, and climb up to Dingboche valley. Overnight in Dingboche.

Acclimatization day at Dingboche We'll take a short trek to aid acclimatization. You'll see memorial stupas built for trekkers who died attempting Everest. We'll climb to Chupki Lhara for views of Mt. Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtren, and Khumbutse. Overnight in Dingboche.

Trek to Gorakshep (5,160m/16,929ft) & Everest Base Camp (5,316m/17,437ft), 7-8 hrs walk After a short ascent, we'll follow the EBC trek route to Gorakshep. We'll then continue to Everest Base Camp, where you can take plenty of pictures at the base of Mt. Everest. We'll return to Gorakshep in the late afternoon. Overnight in Gorakshep.

Hike to Kala Patthar (5,550m/18,204ft) and trek to Pheriche (4,200m/13,776ft), 6-7 hrs walk We'll start early to ascend Kala Patthar for sunrise views over Mt. Everest. After enjoying the panorama, we'll return to Gorakshep and then trek to Pheriche. Overnight in Pheriche.

Trek to Namche Bazar We'll climb uphill for about an hour, then descend. We'll pass through forests with blooming rhododendrons, observe Himalayan wildlife, walk through Sansa, and reach Namche Bazar. Overnight in Namche Bazar.

Trek to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft), 4-5 hrs walk After breakfast, we'll cross the Hillary Suspension Bridge and walk through several villages. We'll descend and cross more villages, bridges, and monasteries to arrive at Lukla. Here, we'll have a farewell dinner with our guides and porters. Overnight in Lukla.

Fly back to Kathmandu We'll take a 30-minute flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. You'll have free time to rest or explore the city. In the evening, we'll enjoy a Farewell Dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Final Departure Our representative will drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport in plenty of time for your return flight.
