Khopra Danda Trek

The journey begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, which takes approximately one and a half to two hours. From Nayapul, the trek starts with a gentle walk through Birethanti, a small village where trekkers register their permits before continuing the trail. The path follows the Modi River, passing through charming settlements like Syauli Bazaar and Kimche. As the ascent progresses, the trail becomes steeper, leading through lush forests and terraced fields before reaching the beautiful Gurung village of Ghandruk. Upon arrival, trekkers can explore the village, visit the Gurung Museum, and enjoy breathtaking views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre. The day ends with a peaceful overnight stay in a tea house.

After breakfast, the trek continues with a gradual ascent through rhododendron and oak forests. The trail offers stunning views of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre as it winds through small settlements. After a few hours of trekking, you reach Tadapani, a picturesque village offering panoramic mountain views. Overnight stay in a tea house.

Leaving Tadapani, the trek follows a serene trail through dense forests, with occasional clearings offering magnificent views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. As you ascend further, the path becomes less crowded, leading to the peaceful settlement of Dobato. Overnight stay in a tea house.

The trek from Dobato to Chistibung follows an undulating path through forests and open meadows, providing glimpses of wildlife such as Himalayan tahr and pheasants. After a steady climb, you arrive at Chistibung, a small settlement with basic teahouses. Overnight stay in a tea house.

Today's trek involves a steady ascent to Khopra Danda, a breathtaking ridge offering panoramic views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. As you gain elevation, the landscape transforms into alpine meadows, with Khopra Danda providing one of the most spectacular viewpoints of the trek. Overnight stay in a tea house.

An early morning trek leads to Khare Lake, a pristine alpine lake surrounded by towering peaks. The trail is relatively challenging but rewarding, with stunning views of Annapurna South. After exploring the area, return to Khopra Danda for an overnight stay.

This day is dedicated to exploring Khyar Base Camp, including a visit to the sacred Kalibaraha Holy Lake and the Annapurna South Glacier. Trekkers can enjoy a spiritual and scenic experience in this remote and less-traveled part of the region. Overnight stay in Khopra Danda.

On the final trekking day, you descend to Nayapul, passing through lush forests and terraced farmlands. After reaching Nayapul, a short drive brings you back to Pokhara, where you can relax and celebrate the completion of the trek. Overnight stay in Pokhara.
